Uitgekookt
When cooking isn't the obvious choice
How Uitgekookt and Assist turned an established brand direction into a more distinctive
visual expression and communication platform that makes chef-prepared meals a
compelling alternative to cooking every night.

You care about good food. Your schedule has other plans.
Most evenings, the ambition to cook ends somewhere between the supermarket and the couch. Uitgekookt offers chef-prepared meals, delivered to the door and ready to heat at home. The brand was already well established with older customers. The next challenge was to become just as relevant to younger households - and make not cooking feel like a
positive choice, rather than a compromise.

01 THE CHALLENGE
More than an easier dinner
Uitgekookt already knew where it wanted to go. Its brand strategy and the foundations of its visual identity were in place: move beyond being seen as a practical meal solution and build a more emotional, premium food brand around attention,
craftsmanship and taste.
Assist's role was not to reinvent that direction. It was to make it tangible: evolve the brand expression and turn the strategy into a communication platform that could work across channels while still feeling unmistakably Uitgekookt.

02 THE IDEA
Taking the compromise off the plate
For younger households, the tension was simple. Time is limited. Their expectations around food aren't. Cooking is still the default, but it takes time and attention. Ready-made meals solve that problem, yet often create another: the feeling that convenience means settling for less.
"Neem de tijd voor wat goed is" - "Take the time for what's good" - gave Uitgekookt a different way into that conversation. The chefs spend their time and attention on dinner, so customers can spend theirs somewhere else. Saving time is still part of the benefit. But quality, care and pleasure are the reason to choose it.

03 THE CAMPAIGN
One promise. Different ways to prove it.
Assist developed a campaign system for television, online video, social, radio and print, allowing each channel to do its own job while the idea and visual world held everything together. Building on Uitgekookt's existing identity, Assist evolved the visual expression around the new proposition. A deeper green, refined typography, an arching graphic device and details borrowed from gastronomy gave the food more presence and created a recognisable system across executions.
Let the dish make the case
The first route stays close to the product. Texture, colour and detail lead. The voice-over introduces the dish. The food does the rest.
Show where the quality comes from
The second route goes behind the dish, following two-Michelin-starred chef Sidney Schutte through his kitchen. We see ingredients being chosen, recipes taking shape and the standards behind each decision. Instead of simply saying that the food is made with care, the campaign shows what that care looks like.
04 THE PROOF
Put a name behind the promise
Uitgekookt's chef collaborations make the quality claim tangible. The collaboration began with two-Michelin-starred chef Sidney Schutte and has since expanded to Erik and Juliën van Loo, alongside TV chef and Meesterkok Rudolph van Veen. Their role is more than endorsement. They bring authorship, standards and a recognisable point of view to the dishes Uitgekookt brings into people's homes.
05 THE COLLABORATION
Built together, with clear roles
Uitgekookt brought the strategy, product knowledge, ambition and existing brand foundations. Assist made that direction tangible by evolving the visual expression and translating it into a communication platform, campaign concepts and creative executions. The work then developed iteratively between both teams. The aim throughout was straightforward: build on what was already strong about Uitgekookt and find a clearer, more emotional way to tell that story.

06 THE RESULT
A better reason not to cook
The campaign gives Uitgekookt a clearer, more recognisable way to explain what it offers. Not simply a quicker dinner, but chef-prepared food made with attention. More time for customers, without asking them to lower their standards.
